Düsseldorf Industry Club awards foreign scholarships to two students

(sf) Katharina Rosenthal and Patrick Pfäffle have every reason to look forward in anticipation: The two students on the "International Management" Bachelor course at the Department of Business Studies at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences are leaving shortly for a semester abroad. 22-year old Katharina is in her 4th semester and achieved the best result in her year with an average mark of 1.4. Her fellow student, 23, is likewise in his 4th semester and, with an overall mark of 1.5 to date, has turned in the second best performance. Their commitment has now been rewarded by the Düsseldorf Industry Club with a five month scholarship abroad amounting to 800 Euro per month respectively.

This means that the two students, both of whom already have experience of life abroad, will soon be packing their suitcases again. Patrick sets off for the USA on 12th August. The semester starts for him at California State University in Fresno on the 24th. Katharina is going to the partner university in the North-East of England where she will be studying in the Newcastle Business School at Northumbria University as from 9th September.

The Düsseldorf Industry Club has awarded two scholarships each Winter semester to foster particularly dedicated students from the Department of Business Studies ever since 2005. Last year the scholarships went to Tanja Dochhan for a semester at Universidad del Pacifico, Lima, in Peru, and to Jannes Rauch for a semester at the Hong Kong Baptist University in China.
