Cooperation agreement signed between Henkel and D UAS on a dual study course

(sf) Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences (D UAS) and Henkel AG & Co.KGaA have agreed to offer a mutually compatible course of studies and training from the Winter semester 2009/10, namely the Communications and Information Technology Bachelor course with parallel training to qualify as an Electronics Engineer for Automation Technology (ICC). The aim of this cooperation model is to enable trainees and students to qualify as an "Electronics Engineer for Automation Technology (ICC)" in an apprenticeship at Henkel, whilst in parallel attaining the academic degree of "Bachelor of Science" on the Communications and Information Technology course specialising in Automation Technology at the Faculty of Electro-technology at D UAS, in just four years. The Rector, Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Krause, the head of training at Henkel, Dr. Loert de Riese-Meyer, and Prof. Dr. Harald Jacques, Dean of the Faculty of Electro-technology, signed the agreement to this end on 19th June 2009.

The training to become as "Electronics Engineer for Automation Technology" (ICC) starts on 1st September each year and takes three and a half years to conclude. Training is performed solely by Henkel. The studies begin with the Winter semester of each year and extend over six semesters until final graduation, in accordance with the Study and Examination Directive, with a "Bachelor of Science" degree. Three trainees at the company will start their studies at D UAS in the Winter semester 2009/10.
