Düsseldorf's universities also "took off" at the third campus open day

(sf/mk) The campus fair "Take off – Study in Düsseldorf" organised jointly by Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences and the Heinrich-Heine-University (HHU) in the foyer and lecture theatres of building 25.12 on the university campus went into the third round on the first weekend of June:
More than thirty reputable companies had already introduced themselves to the future university graduates during a recruiting day on Wednesday, 3rd June, thereby informing the students about placements and opportunities for starting a career. For those who may want to carry on studying after their first degree and specialise, D UAS furthermore presented its multi-faceted Master programmes. On the following Saturday, 6th June, the doors were then opened for interested school pupils and their parents. Many took the opportunity to find out more about the comprehensive range of courses on offer at the university.

Lord Mayor Dirk Elbers: "It's worth studying in Düsseldorf"
The two Rectors, Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Krause from D UAS and Prof. Dr. Dr. Michael Piper from HHU, opened the fair with brief words of welcome. Lord Mayor Dirk Elbers, visibly impressed by the concept and the interest generated by the event, summed up: "I'm impressed by the diversity of the courses offered by our universities." And with an eye to the numerous companies in the region offering outstanding training opportunities and career prospects, combined with the high quality of life in the region's capital city, he encouraged some 3,000 visitors with the words: "It's worth studying in Düsseldorf."
In the further course of the event, the visitors were able to find out more about their potential places of study in all their facets during a lively framework programme: Alongside the information stands, all courses of study were briefly presented by the professors. They were also able to obtain insights into student life outside the lecture theatres with musical, sporting and theatrical stagings plus guided tours around the campus.
Interesting and appealing presentations put on by the technical faculties likewise created a great stir at D UAS. The information stands of study consultants were likewise well frequented: "Courses of study at the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, in particular, were in great demand, closely followed by business", is how course consultant Diana Esser summed up both the wide-ranging and targeted questions posed by the visitors.
