EU project CoNet launched
(sf) The EU project "Co-operative Network Training", in which the Department of Electrical Engineering is a co-partner, has started punctually for the Winter semester. The project runs for three years with a budget of € 686,054 and is co-financed through the EU programme "Life Long Learning (LLL)".
The project aims to develop and apply the most up-to-date training modules in the field of industrial network engineering for automating technical processes. Alongside hands-on training modules and a variety of activities to support training courses in the partner institutions and firms involved, it is intended to set up seven different mobile training laboratories, with which important learning content for industrial communications engineering can be taught in universities and further training establishments.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Reinhard Langmann, head of the tele-laboratory at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, will firstly head the work package to develop the mobile laboratory as a whole, and secondly build up a special mobile D UAS laboratory for training with the Profinet real-time communication system and evaluate this in practical usage.
Eleven partners from seven European countries are involved in CoNet. Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Antwerp is coordinating the project. EU sponsorship for the project of around € 46,000 has been earmarked for D UAS.
