Certificate award ceremony at the Department of Business Studies – graduates received prizes from Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf and the Federal Association of German Economists and Business Administrators

(cg) There was a festive mood in the lecture theatre 6 J in building 26.42 on the South campus at the start of the Winter semester 2009/2010: Graduates from the Department of Business Studies received their final certificates during the graduation ceremony. A highlight of the event was the speech given by Bernhard Mattes, CEO of Ford-Werke GmbH, who spoke about change in the automobile industry. The musical framework programme was provided by the Big Band of the University of Applied Sciences conducted by Prof. Dr. Hubert Minkenberg.

A further highlight of the ceremony were the awards for outstanding study work. Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf donated a prize of 3,000 Euro for the best overall performance, which was shared by the graduates J. M., Nadia Nayseh and Jannes Rauch. The Federal Association of German Economists and Business Administrators donated a prize of 1,000 Euro for the best thesis, which was shared by the graduates Nadia Nayseh and Jakob Kwiatkowski. Nadia's prize-winning graduate thesis researched the question of "What is sensible corporate governance", Master's graduate Jakob produced a "Web usability analysis of alternative video presentations on a teleshopping web site".
